The Kaikoura Longboard Festival will be a non-profit two day event held on the 17th and 18th of January 2015, in the Ocean Ridge Subdivision located five minutes south of Kaikoura Township.

Streets and residences affected by the event are detailed in the accompanying map. Highlighted in red are the sections of road to be closed (the proposed race track), while highlighted in yellow are the sections of road that will be indirectly affected by the road closure.

There will be a full road closure from 9am to 5pm each day. Non-event vehicular access during these hours is restricted to residents and property owners on the section of affected road. Access can be gained via communication with a course marshal who will allow you to pass when safe, with a maximum wait time of 5 - 10 minutes.

The Festival will be comprised of three different longboarding disciplines; the main downhill race event, a freeride event and slalom. The maximum number of competitors will be 64.
